There's A Blogfan at my Door!
The Holday Edition

I'm so late in posting this!
Where are my manners?

My most recent meatspace/Blogger collision
was a dude who flew all the way from Florida
just to meet moi!

You might know him as
PulpMonkeyBoy
(cause he's responsible for the ePulp mag Astonishing Adventures)
(shameless plug: Buy it at Amazon!)
or as
John Donald Carlucci
(cause that's his name)

We spent 11 fun filled days
eating
walking in snow
eating
walking in snow
eating
walking in... er- you get the picture

Oh Oh Oh
AND
he brought DVD's.
OMG
did we watch flix!
This boy owns tons of the weirdass type of films
that this here jin adores!
We had a blast.

What?
Oh!
You want pix?
Nosy 'lil buggers aren't you?!
Wellllll...
ok.
But just one.
This is me & PulpMonkeyBoy
in the Airport parking lot.

He was much shorter than I expected.

Pssssssst!
Yo!
Did you hear the rumour?
I heard
this MonkeyBoy dude
actually packed up all his stuff
got in his car &
set his navigation system to
Manitowoc Wisconsin!

I wonder if it's true?
I wonder if he liked my cooking?
I wonder why he'd do something like that if it is jindeed true?

There's a Blogfan at My Door!!!

I could sooo get used to this peeps!
Another Blogfan popped by to see me today!

Shall we play a little game?
Let's give you a mini sum-up of his blog
see if you can guess who it was!

"Start with the first meal of the day & toss in some military chemicals, add a few warplanes, plenty of attack dogs and hummingbird videos. Throw in a deliciously dark sense of humour that scares away the timid and makes jin's giggle uncontrollably. Take a virtual trip to a land of a hundred & ten degrees+ while in the comfort of your own temperature controlled office. A true omnivore who takes great pleasure in teasing us grazers mercilessly. (Shhh... we kinda like it! Don't tell him that though!) Lastly, toss in the occasional moving poem to round out this incredibly unique individual."

There!
Can you guess?!!?
Huh?
Huh?
Can you?
C'mon...
you must know!

Ok Ok.
It's the
ONE
the
ONLY
the
FANTASTIC

*drum roll*

Phosgene Kid
!!!
from
V Agent for Breakfast

We talked, we laughed, I got taken out to lunch!
Unfortunately I had no cool cakes to show off...
but sent Phos & his brother on their way with plenty of cookies for munching.

Phos from Arizona & brotherPhos from Milwaukee

A jin & a Phos

I've heard talk of Phos not being a hugger, but I got a few out of him! I think he just likes to have that tough guy persona even though deep down he's a big 'ole softy! He even told me I'm purdier in person... awww shucks.... *blush* way to make a jin's day!!! Bloggers ROCK!!! Who'd have thought this tiny piece of cyberspace I tend to would put me in contact with such wonderful human beings such as these two guys?!!? You two must come back again one day... I'll make a PhosCake! ;-)

There's A Blogfan at my Door!

The longest distance traveled
thus far
by a blogfan
to meet moi...
are you ready?
Waaaaait for it...
A roadtrip
solo
from Colorado
all the way
to my 'lil ole shoppe
in Wisconsin!
Eternally Curious
spent 25 hours driving here!
(Her trip back home didn't take quite as long with an improved route.)

A little background info on the fabulous EC:
we blogmet some 2.5 years ago
became fast cyber friends
(us being star twins and all ;-)
and just knew we'd be great meatspace friends as well.

Seeing as she was driving all that way
and I try to be a hospitable jin
I offered her a room for as long as she could stay.
This jincluded
of course
all the jinfood she could eat
assuming she didn't mind going vegetarian
during her stay with me.

We had such a blast!!!
Both being a bit on the eccentric side
our topics of convo
might be considered mindblowing
to a few of you
but to others
you'll just wish you'd have been here!

EC used to study Esoteric Astrology
so I was more than happy
to trade her an in depth Tarot reading
for her esoteric interpretation on my Natal Chart.
Might I just add
that
I think between the two of us
we shook the Cosmos
with our undeniable accuracy.
(The details are a secret. That's all you get! ;-)

We:
talked
laughed
ate
&
took one photo
for all y'all
as cyberproof

EC also treated me to dinner
at
The Always Fabulous Kavarna
and gave me a hand
with many sinks full of dishes
and a wedding cake delivery
(Many thanks for NOT offering to help carry! ;-)

A few days
seemed to end much too quickly
but
alas
"Tis better to have Blogged & Met
Than never to have Blogged at All!"

There's a couple Blogfans at My Door!

Remember Katy?
She was the very FIRST
Blogfan at my door.
(She was also the cool chickie I went to Vegas with last year.)
But this is the first time I got to meet her husband...
the infamous "Grumpy".
(So nicknamed at a time when he worked as a bouncer.
I heard he was very good at his job! ;-)

Katy and Grumpy from Virginia.

Ohhhh.... don't let that look fool you though!
He was not grumpy at all!!!
I'd swear he put that look on just for the camera.

ETA was 2PM.
Katy rang at 12.30 to say they were almost here!
I had planned to make several scratch pizzas for lunch.
I knew I had to hurry so I only got one photo before they went in the oven.

Left: Basil Pesto topped with Shredded Cheddar Jack
Right: Organic Spinach, Feta and Savoury Pecans drizzled with EVOO

There was more food, of course.
Alas I didn't get any photos.
I don't want to tease you
with descriptions of the different
cookies, scones and pizza they got to taste.
hee! ;-P

Laughing about anything and everything.

Katy wanted a peek at how big Brioche (the dog not the bread) had grown since her last visit. What perfect timing! I turned my back for a second when Grumpy tried to sneak out with a 50# box of chocolate.

He didn't get very far. Good dog!

All in all it was a great visit with fantastic convo throughout the afternoon. So glad you both went out of your way to come and see me! Same time next year?

There's a [Mighty Fine]Blogfan at my Door!

Now- I'm guessing all of you want lots of photos, am I right?!!? Wellll... too bad. We went so many places, did so many things and had so much fun that, er... gee... we really didn't take but one single photo! Never fear dear Blogfans, as the pic is of the infamous Eebie himself blissing out on Biscotti and Coffee made by yours truly.

Isn't he cute?!!? This boy is amazingly intelligent too. ;-)

Let's post gratuitous Manty links, shall we?

Riverbank Lounge
We went there for dinner on Saturday evening... um... not realizing that's the only night they don't serve their fab food. BUT (!) ever the charming host, Ben went in the kitchen himself and brought out a phenomenal spread just for us that truly hit the spot. Thanks so much Ben!

Stumpjack Coffee
Next stop, the always rockin' Stump. (Don't be pervy peeps... that's a nickname for the coffee shop!) I had some inside info that the dudes playing live were supposed to be really good. Brian Sanchez and Nick Weiland of Whiskey Jars & Scandals were not really good... they were absolutely AMAZING!!! You could tell these guys love their art, they put their hearts and souls into that performance and really really rocked the Stump! As if live music isn't enough of a reason to stop in, there's always Kim and David who seriously know how to treat their clientèle. David took some great shots that evening of the band so I'm going to send you over to his Flickr set . You might even spy a jin and an Eebie if you look closely. Thanks again Kim and David!!!

More places to go and food to eat the following two days:

Rahr West Art Museum
I had a pastry delivery that Eebie graciously helped me out with. While I put the final touches on the display he got a peek at our museum.

Timeout Sports Bar
Eebie was looking forward to watching Spain beat Germany in the Euro Cup but, alas, I've no TV! *gasp* Since jin's don't normally frequent sports bars I didn't even know if we had one! lol! Thank you Yellow Pages and Congratulations Spain!

Kavarna
I can't recommend this place enough. Y'all know I go there every chance I get. I do believe Eebie was as thrilled with the food and atmosphere as I always am. Bravo!

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
What better way to spend a sunny afternoon then a wonderful walk through some of nature's finest. Please ignore the rumour that I gave Eebie girl cooties, it's SO not true! Mosquitoes! Mosquitoes I tell you! They loved both of us... should that be considered complimentary?

Maritime Museum
A visit here would not be complete without a tour of the sub. Kudos to our tour guide, he really knew his facts!

So- here I sit, pecking away in front of my dusty monitor, contemplating where to start to make up for a couple days off, when I realize, it's a damn good thing I do sit here, surfing, blogging, writing... or I never would have met a most amazingly awesome fantastic blogger named Eebie. Thanks for everything hon and you are welcome back anytime!

There's a Blogfan/Munkee at My Door!!!

Welcome to my Second Edition of
"There's a Blogfan at My Door"
A series where
YOU
my blogfans
get to read about moi meeting
in person
YOU
my blogfans!!!
Woo-Hoo!!!

One of my very favourite blogfans, Ace (aka Eric), recently emailed to say he'd be in the area. I said Yay!!! Stop by and I'll make you a meal. Methinks he somehow knows that jins are overworked & under appreciated as he offered to take me *out* to dinner! Yay! Yay! Yay! Unfortunately I didn't take my digicam with so no piccies of that. But trust me when I say we had great food & fabulous conversation! He even recalled an old post of mine and said, "Is this the Billboard place?" I couldn't believe he remembered! It was indeed!

I wanted to send him back with a package of goodies for sharing with his beautiful & talented fiancee Marisa. He said one of her faves is lemon & I just happened to have some of my lemon curd filled Citrus Swirl cookies. As I was packing them up I heard something odd in the background. I turned just in time to see Ace trying to sneak off with an entire pan of raspberry ganache filled butter cookies.
All he had to say for himself was,
"Munkees like berries."

Here you have us posing with big cheesy grins simply for your viewing pleasure.

Oh!
P.S.
Eric wrote a movie!
Go here or here and buy a copy!
